About Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a set of techniques intended to improve mental health, emotional or behavioural issues and problems.

Sometimes these issues often make it hard for people to manage their lives and achieve their goals. Other times they are just issues that when resolved enable a person to achieve more, and achieve it more easily.

Psychotherapy is aimed at these problems and goals, and solves them via a varied number of different approaches and techniques.

It enables people to move on and become the person they want to be and the person they should be.

About My Psychotherapy

I offer a unique and personalised approach that puts you in control of your own development.

I'll show you how to take control of your brain (rather than letting your brain control you!). Develop new skills that not only help you with the issue you've come about, but skills that you extend and use for the rest of your life.

The key to changing anything about yourself, is changing the way you think about things and then changing how you react to them, after all.

Doing more of what you already do, will only give you more of what you've already got.

Whatever your reasons for coming to see me you can be assured that you will treated in a professional, considerate and respectful way.

What's more important than the issue your attending for, is the goal you looking to achieve.

The way to make changes and achieve your goal isn't to go back into the past. It isn't about blaming your parents, school, friends, governments, doctors, whatever. Your past isn't really that important. What matters is how you are right NOW and where you want to be at the end.

From NOW we can look at what you need to do to get where you want to be.

It's then a matter of taking those steps to get you on your way.

The past never goes away, and because it's in the past you can never change it, but what you can do is change how you feel about it and change the effect it has on you now and in your future.

The future is full of all the possible ways you can be different.

My style of psychotherapy involves more than just talking, it involves learning new skills, new techniques and different ways of doing things that all help you to achieve the results you want, easily and effectively

I've used this approach many times before for all kinds of issues and I carry on using it because it works.

My problem stems from childhood, how can you help me? click to open
Problems may stem from childhood but they only carry on having an effect because of the way you think about them now. In effect you "let them" affect you still - not intentionally of course. I can help you move on and stop them affecting you anymore.

What about deep rooted problems ? click to open
Yes. Even "deep rooted" problems can easily and quickly be changed or eliminated

Will I reveal my deepest secrets? click to open
No. What matters is your future and your goals. Your past isn't what needs to change and discuss, it's your future.

How many sessions will I need? click to open
As many as you need, and not any more or any less! Typically I see Psychotherapy as short term and strategic. How many session exactly depends on what you're trying to achieve and how well you respond. For some things , one session is all you'll need. For others you'll need 4,5 or 6. Sometimes more.

How quickly will I see results? click to open
Again, this is different for everyone. Most people feel significantly different at the end of the first session. Generally, you'll see changes at a speed that is right for you, you might see changes after the first session but you should see some major differences after 3 sessions.

What kind of skills will I learn? click to open
Depends what your issue/problem is. Together we look at the skills and techniques you already use in day to day life and see what else you might find useful. The more skills and techniques a person has the better able they are to succeed at anything.

Will you make me cry ? click to open
No! Good Psychotherapy isn't about making you re-live past experiences, or revisit painful memories. But that said, I often find that people visit me with a lot of pent of tension or worries. Don't worry though, should you feel the urge to cry, I always have a box of tissues to hand :)

How long is a psychotherapy session? click to open
For me, it's between 90 minutes and 2 hours for each person (sometimes shorter, occasionally longer). Other hypnotherapists may limit you to a single hour.

Do you charge per hour or per session? click to open
Charges are PER SESSION, so if you come for 30 minutes or 3 hours, the price is the same.

How much will I need to invest? click to open

Financially, each session is charged at £60 However, you will have to invest some of your time outside of each session using and exploring the new techniques you'll learn and you'll need to invest some time enjoying the changes that will happen.
